Rick, good to hear you’re feeling better. Sometimes our bodies react after a procedure, you’ll do fine, take it a day at a time. :)
ReplyDeleteThat first one, with my luck I would drop to the canyon floor !
The only “fireflies” I have seen are at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland in Anaheim, Ca. :)
And the last one, Socotra Island is part of strife torn Yemen and has a very unique ecology. The weather is temperamental and Socotra doesn’t have much in the way of tourist accommodation. An unspoiled Eden of sorts.

For those of us that live east of the Mississippi, fireflies (sometimes also called lightning bugs) are a common, nightly sight..
ReplyDeleteNice to hear it!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Ontario, our kitty went crazy with excitement the first time he saw fireflies. The meadows they lived in are gone now. Developed for industrial farms and rural sprawl. (sorry for the downer)

ReplyDeleteI loved the fireflies when I was growing up in New England. No fireflies here in Hawaii, but Hawaii has other charms ... -Larry
