At the top, 1957 Lincoln Premier hardtop.
Back in the 1960’s I had an uncle who owned a 57 Lincoln sedan.
The car looked great, but chrome pieces fell off, the driver’s side hubcap would pop off while making u-turns and over time Unc was down to only the left rear passenger door opening as the other door’s latch mechanisms failed. Not an easy task for a 6’6” man to slide over the backseat to get to the driver’s seat ! Unc was no acrobat. :)
Those 57 Premier style hubcaps were used on Kennedy’s limo, as they were considered more stylish and Presidential than the hubcaps that came originally with the limo.

Great story Rj. Quality build severely lacking from your Uncle's Lincoln. The Cadillac with its chrome encrusted grill looks like a smiling behemoth with braces on its teeth. I've loved Caddie design forever with a few exceptions. The company seems to be back in the game again with the newer models. Yesterday while running errands I saw the 1st Lyriq on the road and almost creamed my jeans. Yes, car design can do that to me.

Had another Unc that had a 1968 Eldorado back in the day, being a tech guy he loved the car and had to have it.
Soon the love gave way to hate, when the front drive behemoth would chew up front brakes and tires with abandon ! Remember back then this was before steel belted radial tires came along and those old rayon/nylon cord tires of that time couldn’t hold up.
