Well, Stu, allow me to correct you. After being behind the Iron Curtain that was (is) Russia, I gladly pay my taxes. BUT, I'll agree that what happens here is: We pay taxes and then still have to figure out how to pay for healthcare and education.
ReplyDeleteNo.1 Same here in Canada as in Scotland and many other democratic countries. We pay income taxes and other too but at least we have many services like our universal health care system to only name this one.
ReplyDeleteNo struggle or panic if you need to go to your doctor or having a surgery etc... NO bills and no fear of having to declare bankcrupcy etc..
Not to mention lower insurance rates due to universal healthcare. You have an auto or any other accident and you don’t have to sue to get medical bills paid, which saves the insurance industry a pretty penny and lowers your premiums.
ReplyDeleteAlso better long term healthcare leads to less emergency room visits which cost a fortune and save you from bankruptcy. :-)
