Vintage is always a pleasure.
I always liked Lee Ryder not so much for his physical attributes (never was much of a size queen or into "lean [re: Skinny] guys"), but I admired him greatly for his other attributes.
Years ago (wow - around 20!) I had a much older lover in a long-term relationship that had a very good friendship with Lee Ryder (who went by his real middle name, Robert outside the business). Way before my time with my lover, but he always spoke very highly about Lee.
Rob was (in his day job) a very successful floral designer that got into porn almost by accident and peer pressure. Outside the porn persona, he was very humble, quiet and (in contrast to many of the porn queens of today) didn't like being in the spotlight and recognized out in public. He was a private person that even after he left the business, most appreciated going out and *not* being recognized or approached because of his side career.
His performance capabilities were also very good - again, kind of opposite his true nature. While Lee onscreen was known for aggressive, athletic sex, Wolf (my ex-) told me that in his personal life, Rob was a thoughtful, slow and passionate lover that truly cared about the needs and feelings of his partners (at least, according to his partner at the time that my ex knew as well).
I guess it's kind of like our discussion comments from the past several weeks back about Sgt. Miles - behind all the porn fantasies we have from on-screen actors, porn stars are real human beings that can surprise you in their real lives.
