In the late 1960s, I started paying attention to failed parts on cars, at the service stations we bought gas from. When I'd ask the mechanic about why it broke, he'd usually reply "If they'd only spent another dime on making the product, it would not have broken." At the local, individual level, a dome was inconsequential. We'd have paid more than a dime to get a longer-lasting product. BUT on the scale of the big OEM, who made millions of vehicles with that part, the TOTAL MAGNITUDE GETS MUCH LARGER! They figured "It'll last long enough" or have "an acceptable failure rate", so they saved money. THAT ONE DIME LED TO AN END RESULT WORTH MANY HUNDRED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
ReplyDeleteBE THE CAR COMPANY WHO SPENT THE DIME TO GET A BETTER PART! VOTE!!
IF in 2016 you had a real one person, one vote system Hilary Clinton had million of people's vote over Trump.
ReplyDeleteBUT your damn electoral college system overturn it to have this conman in the White House for 4 years.
I can understand some voters to think of not voting as that USA's electoral system is diminushing the force of one vote.
Anyway, sure ALL Americans have to cast their vote.
The Electoral College is anti-democratic and unfair, but we're stuck with it. Enough people need to vote to overcome its effects.
ReplyDeleteInfidel - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that will happen.
ReplyDeleteIt still stuns me that so many people failed to see all of those points last time. Horrifying.
ReplyDelete#1 please go and vote!
