ReplyDeleteAmerica the beautiful...
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine????
ReplyDeleteSadly, the thought at the time was White is Might.
It'll go back to that if we don't stop the Repugs in Nov.
Better late than never.
ReplyDeleteWhen Nikki Haley said that USA isn't a racist country she is living in a fantasy bubble as even today in 2024 many actions in USA are tinted of a form of racism.
tRump lately went to a «black» GOP rally and did make a fool of him (as he often do) comparing his legal issues to the ones of black people is a blasfeme.
SOME black people have issues with justice BUT many are falsly accused AND have no money to pay for their defense or to pay for their release (I don't remember the term in English).

ReplyDeleteYou would hope that former presidents would have corrected this gross oversight of recognition for a man's valor after all these years. I can only imagine other examples of bravery in our armed forces going unrecognized. Most of all the US Navy should be absolutely ashamed of themselves ! Just like that situation where a gun exploded on a warship and the US Navy was quick to condemn an innocent sailor for the catastrophe, and no apology whatsoever to that sailor's family. My uncle Joe served on the USS Louisville as a radioman in WW2, even he would get pissed at the US Navy for their complete lack of common sense in all these types of situations.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't these presidents of ours ever demand an apology for these oversights and disregard for truth and justice, get the damn secretary of the US Navy and all those dear Admirals to man up and apologize to the families of these men and women in person at the White House and put it all on public record. And this goes for ALL the armed services, this crap has been going on for too long! -Rj
Rj - I agree: Much too long.

ReplyDeleteWe should hang our heads in shame.
Thank you for posting this. This very evening, my sister (age 73) and I (age 65) were talking about the film "Hidden Figures" and asking "why did nobody tell us this stuff" when we were in school. This is part of that same stuff! You might think somebody didn't want us to know. And a whole bunch of people STILL don't want kids to know.
ReplyDeleteNikki Haley claims the U.S. had never been racist. Send this to her.
