  1. Is there hard evidence for the claim that literally every single one of the January 6 insurrectionists was a Christian?

I am not sure how you intended your comment but here is some information for you.

  3. When EVIDENCES are no more believed as truth but a way for some to twist that reality is becoming very very dangerous for that country.

With the misbehaviors of Donnie boy toward the Justice sytem, he is showing the way for his sheep MAGA dollowers to continue their war over democracy in USA.

November 5 will tell you and the rest of the world IF USA is still a land of Liberty and a real democracy.

Here in Canada, our government is already preparing for the «WORST» IF....

  5. I know most MAGA supporters are Christian, but I was asking about the second image. Referring to the 800 January 6 insurrectionists, it says, "All of them were Christian..... 100% of them."

That's a very clear, unambiguous, and sweeping statement. I'm just wondering if there is hard evidence for it. Has anybody documented that every single one of the convicted insurrectionists is a Christian? Not even a single one is non-Christian? Because that's what the image is claiming.

I don't think it's helpful to make claims which are (a) hard to believe and (b) can't be shown to be true when challenged. I suspect this claim is not true, or at least is not definitely known to be true, and that the person who made the image stated an untruth out of carelessness.

  6. Interesting, but from what I'm gathering, Christians were pervasive at the rally and the whole religious thing is being written out of the equation. Go figure. 92% were white, there was only one Indigenous American, and 7 Asians (5 of whom were Vietnamese), 10 blacks.

Vietnamese in this country are overwhelmingly Christian. Blacks? Christian.
Whites? Christian. The attack was a very religious assault.

But have I found the actual statistic you asked about? No. That might be something to ask your senator or congressional rep.

    1. Stating 'alternative truths' as facts is how we got where we are. Let's not indulge in falsehoods and we won't have to hang our heads in shame onecsay.

  8. My question was, is there any evidence to support the specific statement that every single one of the 800 convicted January 6 insurrectionists is a Christian. Not "are most of them Christians". Not "did Christian nationalism play a role". Just "is there evidence to support that specific, exact statement made in the image".

Evidently there is no such evidence. Not only is the claim implausible, but I don't believe such information even exists. It's very unlikely that anyone went to the trouble of compiling and verifying the religious affiliation of every single individual convicted of participating in the insurrection. The person who made that image made a false statement out of sloppiness or hyperbole.

I have a serious reason for harping on this. When people on our side say things that are implausible and almost certainly false, it casts doubt on the things we say that are actually true. It makes us look careless and unserious. Yes, I know that the right-wingers constantly lie and exaggerate -- and that's something that we rightly hammer them for all the time. Trump's constant false statements about things like the "stolen" election are a big part of the basis for declaring him unfit for office. We should not be doing the same kind of thing.

I see on the left a growing attitude that the right wing is so evil and absurd that it's OK to say pretty much anything about them, no matter how sloppy or outright false, because they're Bad People. To the extent that the broader society becomes aware of this attitude, they will treat anything we say with suspicion, and rightly so.

On my own blog I frequently am tempted to cite juicy-sounding claims about people I don't like, only to find on investigation that those claims are false or can't be verified, so I can't cite them. High standards of accuracy must be upheld. It's not a trivial issue.
