Now you see, I am right. I've been telling the younger crowd that the stemless champagne flutes are inappropriate for serving champagne. You need the stems because they provide a convenient holder and the champagne stays colder!

Oh Mistress Maddie, I used to have a champagne flute holder like that but now it has less grippage and more slippage. I go through champagne flutes like an old queen with a nasty head cold* goes through handkerchiefs LOL
