Amen on all of these.
The "bad" thing is that many have gotten tired of hearing those messages. Which is unfortunate! Many claim they voted, but what good did it do? So apathy is happening with the weary. Again, unfortunate. JUST that at this time, the stakes keep getting higher and higher for the Democracy, when they were not in prior times. But those prior losses led us to where we now are!
The whole dang world seems to be falling apart. Climate change issues. Putin allegedly deceased. Israel and such. Then a bunch of Republicans claiming they are "normal" and everybody else is "radical" or "the enemy", seeking to tear everything down in the process. Aided by Federalist Society-aligned Supreme Court justices! Republicans who want to take us 10 steps backward and claim it is "progress"!
Perhaps "backward" might not be too bad? Back to when legislators were friends and compromised rather than fight each other. "Civility"! Back when the federal tax rates were higher and government spent money to help people build this nation to what it was back then. Before bold preachers became political activists, forming non-profits related to religion to possibly get out of paying taxes. When the federal government operatives were feared for their oversight actions! Nobody complained about having to get shots so the kids could go to school. When only "rich kids" went to private schools! AND if a kid was out in the world during the normal school day, the parents would be accountable for that happening!
Yep, lets go back to 1963 and see how the "current whiners" like it! ONLY thing is that going backward would negate all of the social progress we've made since then, which would be a definite "not good" thing.
The world we have now is the one we live in. We've got to make it better!! Which means VOTING BLUE in all elections, no matter what.
Cdadbr - Absolutely, VOTE BLUE! They ain't perfect, but at least they ain't trying to make this country an authoritarian theocracy.
One of the issue in USA is that your condamn to vote for TWO parties only.
It's like your choices are just between WHITE and BLACK with no grey zones parties to choose from.
The other issue is tha on ALL level of your society those two parties are inbeded and are affiliated to the federal ones.
In Canada, we have multiple parties, not necessarely affiliated one to another and they stop on the city levels and surely not on courts or police etc..
We don't have the damnit «electoral college» like you have and the one who wins the election does it in regard of EACH votes he has.
