WHAT...
THE...
FUCK?
Ever since I changed my Outlook password earlier today, I've not been able to upload images. I don't know what one has to do with the other.
I keep getting this message...
Allow "google.com" to use cookies
You won't be able to access your files
if necessary cookies are turned off
CLOSE --- ACCEPT
You won't be able to access your files
if necessary cookies are turned off
CLOSE --- ACCEPT
I click Accept but it just keeps repeating that message. I even shut down the computer for an hour but that did not help.
Until I get this figured out, posting images is on hold.
So sorry to hear about this, Rick. I can only imagine how frustrating and infuriating this must be. Best of luck sorting it all out!

There is so much odd stuff going on, and I have next to no technology when it comes to laptops and such. Lucky, I don't have any issues or have heard of this before. But the few problems I did have with blogger made me come close a few times to almost hang it up.
ReplyDeletecheck your third-party cookies in google to see if they are allowed or disabled. They really need to have a call center for blog administrators, Google has the money.
ReplyDeleteHi Rick,
ReplyDeleteI saw yesterday that Blogger has, once again, "updated" the interface of the image/video uploading tool.
It prompted me with the same message you had, though accepting didn't block the the process.
First thing you may want to do is deleting your cookies history, maybe even the whole browser's history.
If you're using Safari on your Mac : go to Preferences (Safari Menu), in the dialog box go to Confidentiality tab, click on Manage Websites Data and wait for the list of Websites to load, then click Delete All.
This should do the trick - at least I hope so.
Or you can directly delete the whole History from your browser.
You will probably be able to have your blogspot back to normal within a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteFrustrating as hell. I can't imagine why changing an Outlook password would affect the ability to upload images. Maybe it's coincidence that both things happened at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI can still upload images (did a post full of them this morning), so it's not a Blogspot-wide problem. Hopefully the suggestions from BatRedneck will help.
Hope this gets resolved quickly - I love your blog pix! Hope my blog doesn't have the same issue!
ReplyDeleteLaurent has good advice there....then reboot.
ReplyDeleteJimbo - I'll do my best.
ReplyDeleteMaddie - Same here.
Anon@7:31pm - I wish that, too.
Laurent - I deleted caches and history on all three browsers that I use. Then rebooted as Pat said. Nothing has changed.
Xersex - I hope so!
Infidel - Probably just a coincidence, I'm sure.
Moonma - It's a pisser.
Pat - Still not corrected.
Now this is annoying.
ReplyDeleteI still do not get how a change of password in Outlook could relate to the issue at hand.
Anyway these are the things I'd try :
- log out from Blogger, then when logging back in choose the "forgotten password" option so that you're able to create a new one, then proceed as usual to see if you can go past that cookies message.
- if not, then you can also try deleting the additional browsers you are using such as Firefox, Chrome, etc
First thing to do though prior deleting a browser is to save your list of Favorite - e.g. in Safari go to the File menu and choose Export then Favorites.
Deleting a software under the macOS (I seem to remember you own a macMini) is quite simple as one just has to drag it from the Application folder to the trashcan then empty it. Still most softwares leave additional/preference files in the User folder. So I'd recommend using a third party tool to make sure the cleaning is thorough. I believe Mark from VoenixRising is an advanced user, you may want to ask him for advice as to how to proceed in the best way. I use CleanMyMac but it's not free, a quick search made me find a free Uninstall software available in the AppStore:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/delete-apps-uninstaller/id1033808943?mt=12?ign-mpt=uo%3D4&mt=12
Once done, I'd reboot - actually not reboot, but turn off then turn on again the computer - and then download and re-install the usual browsers to check how it goes.
Keep us updated on how you solved that issue (because you will).
Cheers!
Laurent
Laurent - Your memory is correct, I have a Mac Mini. Mark is very advanced, but he does this sort of thing for a living. Instead, I'm calling someone local to see if they can fix it remotely. In the meantime, thanks for your support.

ReplyDeleteRick, I wish you the best of luck, I miss your postings already.
Sonofabitch. Sorry you're having this issue - I know how frustrating it is when Blogger doesn't work as it should --- or as expected.
ReplyDeleteThis might be a useless thing to try, but maybe changing the Google password to the same one you updated Outlook to may work? But, you're correct one doesn't have anything to do with the other. You can try clearing the cache on the web browser you use. Good luck! Darrel
ReplyDeleteDarrel - Thanks, I'll give that a try.
ReplyDeleteThe computer geeks are at it again.
