can you buy guns like potatoes in the United States?

DeleteI went to Plattsburgh last year (it's at one hour drive from Montreal) and went shopping to their mall.
ReplyDeleteGot in a «sport shop» to see all those kind of mass shooting weapons and pistols on display to be sold in open sight.
What was also the most disturbing is to see all kind of boxes of bullets on self service shelves not far away.
Yes, it seems to be that easy to purchase those in USA.
In Canada where I live it's forbiden to purchase those types of mass shooting weapons.
Even a hunting riffle cannot have a magasine for more than 5 bullets in it.
Hand guns are banned too except for sports and are closely monitored like a car as you show here.
Now, for the mental health which in USA is often said for the reason for mass shootings by those Trumplikkansm, well, we also have mental health issues but almost no mass shooting because our gun laws are very strict.
... and Canada actually has reasonable mental health services.

ReplyDeleteIn communist Yugoslavia hunters were allowed their guns as well as farmers, they never had any problems with gun violence. Unlike America where gun owners, many of whom are paranoid, feel they have a right to overthrow our government and tell others how to live their lives. Of course, if they had their way, they would get rid of those they hate and then they would start shooting at each other spurred by their own sick paranoic delusions. :)
