2023.0921-Insert-001...

Yesterday I went to have new glasses made. (It's been five years since my last prescription was filled, so it was time.) The distance glasses weren't a problem because I wanted to update the frames anyway.

However, I wanted to keep the frames for the computer. Unfortunately, they had to send them to the factory to be fitted, since they're so old. I have double vision on top of blurry vision.

The long and short of it is, I'm creating posts with one eye closed and it ain't easy. It'll take about ten days to get the computer glasses back. I don't have a spare pair.

  3. Have you tried the generic glasses at walgreens/cvs as a temporary fix?

  4. I understand your struggle. The Macular Degeneration in my left eye forces me to mostly use the right one.

Things look good from my end.

    Take breaks.

Have a great rest of the week.

  6. J.Johnson - My double vision precludes those.

  7. Getting old sucks, doesn't it?

I have progressives, and while I like them a lot, they're pretty useless for computer work unless I'm sitting with the laptop on my lap. I also have monocular contact lenses (one distance, one close) that I've been wearing for the last 20 years (not one pair for 20 years, but you get my drift). They're a compromise too, but at least they work well for computer work.

  8. Just had cataract surgery. You can't be too careful with your eyes, Rick. Heal quickly!

  9. Take care of yourself, Rick, and don't overdo it. I have bifocals, which I use for distance and reading, but if I use the bifocals on the computer, I have to tilt my head back, which is literally a pain in the neck. So I, too, have a separate pair of computer glasses.
