I certainly hope so!

  2. I love a neat and factual calculation.
Cherry on the cake with this one? It gives reason to hope.

  4. The argument places a lot of faith in the desire of the young to vote. Here in Washington, a state that actually places a ballot in your hand and gives you all the information you need to know, only 30% of voters bothered to cast a ballot in the recent primary.

So the usual cast of characters, activist left, and moderate liberals won.

I'll believe it when I see it.

  5. It's not just that Gen Z votes, but how they've been educated. Were they educated about WHY we fought WWII, to end fascism in Europe, replaced by Democracy? Were they educated about why America was founded to get out from under the political rule of the Church of England, for religious freedom? What about Civil Rights? Are they educated on how to "critically think", being able to detect lies from non-lies? Did they pay attention during high school government class? Were they "radicalized" by their family members or peers? Finally, WE can only hope that they have been oriented toward helping others with their problems so we can have a BETTER place on this planet, without some catchy slogan or color of cap! THEN, they need to vote Democrat rather than for a third party evolution!

To me, the Democrat umbrella is plenty big enough for moderate Democrats and those who feel more intensely. More of the "welcoming and inclusive" way of doing things for a better planet, in the long run. While still being careful with how money is spent.

  6. "Project 2025" is back in the news. It is a scary read - but a MUST read as it details exactly what the republicans plan to do if they take over the Oval Office.

  7. LeftField - Very sad about the low percentage of votes. What's more sad is that that is not an anomaly.

    Cdadbr - Excellent questions.

Pat - I Googled that and it's frightening!

  8. Not sure that those young voters in USA are that educated and aware enough to see the historical perspective of 2024 election.

They are addict to internet and very vulnerable to fake news and conspiracy theories. Nothing can be sure about them being more aware of the stakes in USA's democracy.

When a party like Retrumplikkkans are banning books and history in schools, this GenZ are now no more than in Germany in the 30's.
