When I was a kid our Air Force family was stationed in London 1952-55 - we lived in a standard British row type house where the entire back yard fencing was those exact metal mesh stretchers- that's a bit of a nostalgia trip for me
Forgot to add that ours were installed vertically rather than horizontally in your pic
