We can't keep them in our lives forever. One of the best voices in recording history and the only voice that was strong and crystal clear including his last performance with Gaga at Radio City Music Hall at the age of 95.
ReplyDeleteWell definitely go down as one of the best entertainers in history. Rip
ReplyDeleteHe had this warmth and gentleness about him which allowed his collaborators to feel safe and comfortable enough to really let themselves go. His duet with Lady Gaga on "Lady Is A Tramp" is one for the ages. It's the best version of that song ever. Damn, will he be missed.
ReplyDeleteA great performer, whose voice will live forever in vinyl and electronic forms. May he rest in peace.

ReplyDeleteHis vocals got better with age. Damn shame, but we have lots of recent recordings to remember him with.
ReplyDeleteHe was a good and kind man who displayed tremendous generosity in mentoring any number is young talents.
ReplyDeleteAnother great one lost. How sad.
