Cats In The Navy
Army, Too...
Certainly a side of war that I never considered. Taking time to love a furry little friend when your mission is to hate and kill the enemy. I have mixed emotions on the post and thanks for finding this interesting story.
ReplyDeleteMilleson - I'm glad you enjoyed the article.
ReplyDeleteI knew Navy ships usually had cats, but the Army? Who knew???
ReplyDeleteThis is so nice. Thanks for posting it.
ReplyDeleteBig Dude - You are very welcome.
ReplyDeleteIt was Simon, a navy ratter, who is the only cat to have won the Dickin Medal for military gallantry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_(cat)
ReplyDeletePat - I think the Army cats were rescues.
ReplyDeleteCarl Schwent - Thank you for the link! It was an interesting story.

ReplyDeleteNice uplifting posting Rick.
I love the last two pics of each of the navy and the army.
Navy: The kittens/cat seem to love their new friend.
Army: Nursing the kitten back to health.
Do you have pets? What kind? have you shared images of them?
ReplyDeleteSean - We have one cat named Dexter and he's 18 years old. There are two images under "Personal", over in the Labels section in the right column. There should be one more but I need to see what I did with it.
ReplyDeleteoh so nice!
