2023.0713.0001...

I see a repeat of Hitler's Germany coming our way.
It might have a new name, but it's the same crap.

  1. As the old saying goes "history will repeat itself." I also believe that our education system is a failure. I wonder if the events prior to WWII an WWII are even mentioned anymore?

  2. This court, in this time, will do more damage to the fragility of our democracy since the first justices were seated. Our direction is unclear and concerning. This country is running out of time to make the correction needed to end this dangerous fiasco. As has been seen recently during their hearings, some will say anything to get the job, then will do the opposite. The liars win, America loses.

Listen up. JiEL, can't you see if Canada can annex us and we can become the United Territories of North America? Then abolish all our political parties and rule as your government can. At this point in history, Canada seems to have it more together than most. Just a thought.

  3. Well, here's the thing about that ruling: It was already legal to deny service. All a business need do is post the sign, "We reserve the right to deny service to anyone."
What makes this stand out is that it was all predicated on a hypothetical "what if." And it does open the door to **overt** discrimination.

The 6 justices(?) that have dominated of late are slowly destroying the progress we've made, are hoping to regress to the early 20th Century, and will do anything their benefactors pay them for.

  4. @Milleson,

I must poiont out that your idea of joining Canada as another territory to our Constitution did occure in some states that are close to our borner in the past.

After the 2016 election many Americans were thinkong to move to Canada and some did.

The problem as I always said, is your OLD outdated Constitution that needs to be more in phase with the 21st century.
Also, letting those «Christian-Evangelical» cult people to take charge of your politic institutions will always cause the clash between «us and them».
We evacuated religion from any politic decisions here since the 60's and must admit that we are a more caring and open minded country since then.

We have multiple (5) parties in many political spheres, national, provincial and town governements AND not much associated one to another.
In USA, you have TWO parties and they are associated on all levels of your society which makes it easy to havec bad polarization as we see now.

Not to forget the old constant challenge of racism which is poisonning your society for centuries and still not resolve.

It would be more than time that USA diciders at the highest level make a HUGE 180° turn and update your Constitution more adapted to your 21st century society.
We did it in 1982 thank to the contreversial Pierre Elliott Trudeau, father of our now Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.(He is around 45yo and most of our politicians are not oldy ones which is more in phase with our population.)

(Our Suprem Court justices are not nominated for their political allegeance but for their merit and are retiring at 75yo.)

  5. I like that last one... and Ron Perlman sure nailed it. Don't worry... the younger generations are better educated and more open to ideas. This going back to 1952 crap? It's dying out... the good old fashioned way.

  6. @uptonking,

Are you sure that your young generations are better educated as many are going through a school system where they're banning books and CRT etc..
Also accessing to college and university is less and less possible for many not so wealthy young guys...

Some of your young generations are part of white extremist racist groups not to mention the Qanon, Proud Boysand or other altern reality groups. They are the internet generation and are affected by what they are seeing there..

With all is going on in USA, you're country is regessing backward, as you said, to the 50's.
