ReplyDeleteVRCooper - Very carefully!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Century of Progress poster, Rick!
ReplyDeleteHuh, my mother went to that 1933 expo in Chicago with some friends, had a blast she said. The posse, all in their 20s, rode with a guy who had a Cord that seated four, so it was 2 couples who drove from Buffalo (and *real* fast at times, Mom remembered).
I've seen lots of photos in books/magazines that mention the fair, since my lifelong interest (railroading) was heavily represented at the expo and I read a lot of rail history. And in at least one (inside a poorly lit bar at the Coca-Cola pavilion) I could swear I see my mom's girlfriend/school chum at a table with 3 others (2 look very male, with short hair).
Mark1147 - Neat memories.
