ReplyDeleteNotice the pivot to "mental health issues"? Now anybody who might be depressed has a mental health issue.
ReplyDeleteRepublicans seem to perceive they have the power to tell people what to do, as they have NOT offered any viable solutions to many of the problems in the USA or world. Only block things others try to do. IF one of them was a CEO and had an employee who acted as they do, they would have been fired long ago. Yet, as they are "Republicans fighting to a 'better America' (as THEY see it)", they get a pass. And then they make problems where there were not any befordhand. As THEY made the problem, then THEY can fix it, to prove they are doing something. But that last part, the fix, gets screwed-up in the process.
Interesting that they painted the latest shooter as someone with mental health problems --- since the guy was solidly White Supremacist. They're finally calling it right: To get so easily sucked into that shit is a mental health issue. 'Course, they're sticking to that excuse no matter what, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the only way this gets fixed is if and when a high number of GOP/NRA personnel get wacked by a law abiding gun toting GOP who's not crazy?
ReplyDeleteAs a Canadian living at one hour drive from the border I could say: don't go to USA, you might get shot...
ReplyDeleteThe mental health issue isn't a good reason as here in Canada, as many «democeratic» countries, we also have mental health issues BUT no such numerous mass shooting. (Only 12 since 1867 the date of our Constitution)...
In the United States, 6 out of 10 gun deaths are suicides. The rate of gun suicide in the United States is nearly 12 times that of other high-income countries, according to Everytown For Gun Safety. Since the start of 2022, at least 17,434 people have died by firearm, according to Gun Violence Archive.
