Because I made the same mistake several times, I'll share with you the name is "The Picture of Dorian Gray." The 1945 movie is excellent, filmed in Black and White with one color sequence of the painting in its grotesque state. The actor Hurd Hatfield made a few movies in his career and was a handsome man, almost pretty, and great in this role. Also featured was our dear Angela Lansbury whom we lost last month. She costarred in "Gaslight," her first movie in 1944.
Love the book, the concept, the movie from 1945.
