Good morning, Rick. The second photo of the hummingbird hawkmoth or Sphinx moth brought back wonderful memories of seeing them when I lived in Yakima years ago. I had a small apartment at that time and hung planter boxes off the railing of the little deck where I planted purple double petunias because they smelled like carnations and these moths would feed on them like crazy. For some reason, we knew them as tomato worm moths because tomato worms are quite large and these moths are big, too. Anyhoo, as Bob Hope would sing, "Thanks for the Memories."
ReplyDeleteMilleson - You know so much about so many things.
ReplyDeleteI always thought the life cycle of a butterfly to be fascinating, going from the long process of an egg to a caterpillar then an chrysalis before the very short stage of butterfly. Nature's lessons are so underrated.
ReplyDeleteLaurent - They certainly are.
