ReplyDeleteI bloody, bloody day which I hope never needs repeated. Yet, between Russia attacking Ukraine and Turkey threatening Syria, and China forcing itself on Taiwan(?), it feels more and more likely every day.

ReplyDeleteRobert Capa landed from an LCVP with regular troops that day and used a 35mm Contax to take pictures in the midst of it all. When the film was sent to be developed a new and nervous photo assistant fried the negatives in a drying cabinet. Only a handful survived.
