what marvellous pics
ReplyDeleteSo, the second to last picture is of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Memorial Bridge connecting Charleston to Mt Pleasant and beyond. It replaced a NIGHTMARE Bridge that was so out dated and so very dangerous. I had my shops in Downtown CHS and Isle of Palms at the time, so I was a regular commuter on both bridges. To Officially open the Bridge in July 2005, there was a Fireworks Extravaganza that was unforgettable. It was to be best viewed from Patriot's Point, and we were the only ones selling Ice Cream at that event. I believe it was my most profitable "Outside Event" ever. Fireworks, Summer evening and thousands of people, milling around before the Show. The perfect combination. A very lovely memory. Thanks Rick!!
ReplyDeleteFred - I always enjoy your stories of memories. You are a good writer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rick! Sometime, you will have to hear some of Chuck's stories. Coffee with the Beatles, his friendship with Liberace and Lord Montague of Buley, on and on. My stories are pretty basic compared to his!!
ReplyDelete#1 and #3 look enchanted.

ReplyDeleteAll beautiful pics!!
#1) Reminds me when Dorothy was finding her way to Emerald City!!
Oh I enjoyed the insight that fred gave us about that awesome bridge.
The last pic is spectacular!!! I don't know why this expression came to my mind but my grandmother (nana, I miss her dearly) would say " red sky at night, sailor's delight."
Thanks Rick!!
Scott@MA - But, what does that mean?

ReplyDelete"If the sky is red at night, there will be good weather the next day." Now Rick I could think of a few more, on what I think it means (a little naughtier) about the sailors, lol, so I will have to do some more investigating. Man I love "goggle"!!
Scott@MA - Well, I'll admit that I thought of the "red light district".
