The Wintergarden, New York City
Brookfield Place, Toronto, Canada
Thank you Chris & Anon for pointing out my errorof mixing up two different places!!
I hate to say this, but the first three pictures are of the World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan. I know, because I was working in the building with the pyramid on top when 911 happened. The building behind the one with the dome on top is the replacement for the Twin Towers that came down that day. The rest of the pictures are not familiar to me, so they may be in Toronto.
When I Googled Earthed Brookfield Place The first on on the list was on Vesey Street in Manhattan, the second one was in Toronto, the third and forth ones were in Calgary and the fifth listing was in Battery Park City, also in Manhattan. When I worked there Battery Park City was at the southern end of the World Financial Center. The one with the pyramid on top was and still is the American Express Tower at 200 Vesey Street at the north end of the Financial Center. It looks like Brookfield Place likes to rename properties it owns or manages to Brookfield Place. Which causes confusion!
Beautiful pictures. If it matters, the first 3 are from NYC. "The Wintergarden" by World Financial Center. The Freedom Tower is in the background in the first one. Enjoying your posts. xoxo
Chris & Anon@10:45am - Thank you both for pointing out this error! I'm embarrassed to admit that I thought, "Gee, they have buildings just like in New York." Sometimes all my bulbs on the string are not lit. I will make a correction.
The Winter Garden is one of my favorite spaces New York. I was so afraid that it had been destroyed in 9/11 but relieved to discover that it wasn't. It's lovely.
This metal structure design seems to have been inspired by Antonio Gaudi's elliptic studies for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
