Superb summary.
The Bible is actually fairly clear (for a change) that life begins at first breath and that, if a woman miscarries, it isn't considered the death of a child. In fact, there's even an odd formula to induce an abortion (in Numbers 5) in the case of adultery. It involves a lot of mystical hoo-ha but NO thought is given tho the life of the fetus. Additionally, that text they always use about a pregnant woman being hit during a fight and miscarrying resulting in a penalty of death for the hitter, according to the original Hebrew, the miscarriage is penalized by a fine, the death penalty is levied if the MOTHER dies.
As is so often the case, the people banging the Bible the hardest, know the least about it.
