It's all so.....ridiculous, isn't it? They seem to be able to justify anything. Something shitty, "God has a better plan."
Something good happens, "I'm so blessed by God."
Something blah, blah, blah, "It's in God's hands."
Such bunch of bullshit. Mainly what the preachers are preaching: "Give me money."
whkattk - And millions of people swallow all that, "hook, line, and sinker".
I always detested the phrase "God bless America!", and more so following the attacks of 9/11. Every fucking time I hear that, I want to ask the question, "Exactly WHOSE God blessed America?"
Is it the White Republican Jesus God that the GOP seems to embrace when convenient?
Is it Abraham?
How about Buddha? Jehovah?
Perhaps it's Allah that convinced Mohammad Ata he would be greeted in Heaven by 40 virgins if he would only sacrifice himself and fly a jet into the WTC?
Which God blessed America?
I'm waiting.
E Pluribus Unim has a better ring to it.
And on that first meme... I am of Serbian descent. We LOVE our lamb, but shit... ain't no way I'm cooking lamb twice a day!
All very true. A human who had that kind of obsession with burnt dead animals would probably be put under psychiatric observation. Who knows, in a worst-case scenario such a deranged person might even escalate to nailing his own son to a piece of wood in some sick ritual.
I have the most tremendous respect for ex-Muslim atheists who actively speak out about Islam, like Ibn Warraq and Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Any one of them is worth a hundred of their accommodationist critics.
Besides being an atheist, I'm an a-hattist.
"We are not fallen angels, we are risen apes." People would have more respect for human achievements if they recognized where we actually started from.
Rad - Unfortunately, I'm afraid you'll be waiting for a very long time. But I had to chuckle about the lamb.
Infidel753 - So many followers of faith need to be examined. But we already know they have some mental defect with their inability to accept the real truth.
weak minds believe, but who really can think can't believe to any gods
@ Rick - "So many followers of faith need to be examined. But we already know they have some mental defect with their inability to accept the real truth."
They have an inability to accept the realities of life.
whkattk - Indeed.
