Amen, Chelsea. All three of these make great sense. So... when will America make sense? I don't understand why so many want to keep in place a system that never worked in the first place. It's like driving a car with bad brake pads... eventually? You won't own that car anymore.
ReplyDeleteuptonking - I love Chelsea.
ReplyDeleteShe's absolutely correct. There's something truly fucked up about a country that won't - not "can't" - ***won't*** take care of its most vulnerable citizens.
ReplyDeleteChelea has a point but not real fact about the income cieling.
ReplyDeleteHere in Province of Quebec I ALWAYS had free universal health car even when my income as a teacher was $71 000/year. NEVER had to pay for seeing a docter and even paid $0 when I spent 4 days in an hospital for my colon surgery.
Now I'm retired and make $40 000/year and never had to pay on health care.
I had a scan in May in a hospital, no fees.
For the private insurance she's talking about it facultative if you want more coverage like dental and optometric. They also provide some coverage for meds.
When I was teaching we had that kind of group health insurance which was more expensive than $14/month.
For example it was paying 80% of any drug prescription.
JiEL - Thanks for clarifying. That's the problem with some memes: They're not totally accurate. And I'm too lazy to check every one of them.
