True Confession: For years after starting this blog, I really had no idea that there were blogs with completely opposite viewpoints. Call it naivety, but I call it like it is: stupidity. Every once in a while lately I encounter one, which leads to another, and another. I'm curious about them. I'm also disturbed by them. Here's a smattering of the more tame stuff. One site was even run by a GAY guy. Unbelievable.
I realize that my postings are viewed mostly by the choir,
but this last one demonstrates who lives among us.
Rad - I'll do my best, thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh Rick! If this is the "Tip of the Iceberg" then there are more f##ked up people than we realize. But, of course, that is how the Orange S##t Gibbon got himself elected in the first place, by appealing to and organizing the previously unorganized, low information voters, who then, with their "sense of community" stayed organized and now are plaguing us. Sad commentary on today's world, and one of the many, many reasons Hubby and I retired to Mexico. We rarely see these folks here and if we do, we inform them of how unwelcome they are. Your Blog is always a Triple Treat for me. Obviously, the Guys are awesome, but so are your political posts, and the wonderful Natural World shots as well. Thanks for all you do!!
ReplyDeleteIf so many fucking idiots didn't believe these memes, these conspiracy theories would be laughable. Joan made those remarks to a photog when asked if she thought we'd ever have a gay or trans president. An obvious Joan Rivers joke and she explained in detail on CNN in an interview the reason she said those remarks. You know CNN, that news channel that none of the MAGAs or Fox news conspiracy theorists would ever watch. You know, they might actually hear some facts and the truth if they did. Pathetic. By the way, did anyone hear the Obamas react in any way or threaten to sue Joan? Didn't think so.
ReplyDeletefred - Thank you. Sometimes I'd like to leave the country as well.
ReplyDeleteMilleson - I figured that last meme was leaving something pertinent out.
ReplyDeleteI make a regular practice of reading right-wing blogs and sites to keep up with what they're thinking, and in all honesty the examples here are tame indeed. I've seen calls for outright violent revolution. I've seen sustained campaigns to convince people that covid-19 vaccines are dangerous and don't work (self-defeating since they're just encouraging their own readers to potentially kill themselves off). Comments about evil Jewish conspiracies secretly ruling the country go unchallenged. And of course Trump's claims about the election being stolen are simply accepted as an article of faith. It's like a whole bubble universe of delusion.
ReplyDeleteAs a Canadian, you know me, I'm very very often flabbergasted not to say thrown down by so many stupid stuff coming from people of USA and not the least, as even some «RetrumpliconsQ» in Congress and Senate.
ReplyDeleteThose are supposed to be the best of what USA can put in office.
Conspiracy theories like the pedophilia and children trafficking by Democrats to site only this one, shows how stupid and misguided are some who believe in such non sense.
Your conservative people are going balisticaly out of control and totally brainless. That «Big Lie» propaganda to say that the 2020 election was rigged and in the same time passing anti voting laws in GOP states show how disconnected they are.
By voting such anti democratic laws they are the ones that are managing to rigg the next elections.
USA is going on a very bad path and internet is one of the bad way those nuts are propagating all those hate and conspiracy theories are fueled and reposted again and again.
Violence is the result of all of this non sense publications.
Infidel753 - But, it's a delusion they believe, which is very scary.
ReplyDeleteJiEL - Perhaps stupid and misguided, but they're putting their delusions into action. I'm afraid we're going to be caught with our pants down once again, only worse. Much worse.
Liars are going to lie. If you can't live with yourself you look out and you find targets. It's sad. That people don't realize what the government is supposed to be... of and by the people... but it goes to show just how disenfranchised fifty percent of this country has become... how disillusioned they are. That's why we have to continue to fight... to reach out... to educate. We have so much to do... but time is of the essence.
ReplyDeleteThe Biden-Crash Test Dummy...my in-laws believe that. Seriously. They think he'll be declared incompetent and Harris will be sworn in. They'll defend Trump to their last breath. I despise having to spend time with them. Shit, no wonder I sliced off the tip of my thumb when they were here....🙄
ReplyDeleteuptonking - I have a friend who is a "true" socialist and he believes the whole problem is with the capitalist oligarchs. The "working class" needs to rise up and take over. Yeah, like that will work.
ReplyDeletewhkattk - That might explain it.
