Please identify these beautiful birds!
ReplyDeleteOh my god, that golden pheasant and mandarin duck. When those birds were being designed, it looks like the creator started to paint and didn't know when to stop! Absolutely brilliant, always love your bird posts. And that strutting owl is a hoot, so to speak.
ReplyDeleteAnon@7:13am - I know very little about birds, but Milleson identified a few.
ReplyDeleteMilleson - Thanks for the ID on some of these.
Reverse Google search identified a house finch in winter, grey crowned crane and great white heron (probably). Did not identify the species of owl.
ReplyDeleteMilleson - Wow! Thanks for doing that. I hope Anon sees your hard work.
ReplyDeleteNo.3 isn't a house finch it is a Hoary Redpoll living way north of Canada.
ReplyDeleteThe owl is a Boreal Owl seen in our boreal mid north forest north of Ontario and Province of Quebec.
JiEL - Thank you for solving some unanswered questions.
ReplyDeleteThanks JIEL for correctly identifying that puffed-up finch as a hoary redpoll. I didn't look at enough pictures of the finches to see that specific breed. Gotta keep those birds straight.
ReplyDeleteThat first bird is stunning. All very colorful. I love the marching owl!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all who helped identify these beautiful birds! I truly appreciate it!
