  1. Among all the stated truths, the last one marks a clear and full point that seems to totally elude too many politicians.
At work, I have been in contact with a lot of people who were at the beginning of their professional life, so a lot of millennials. Their minds are definitely not fixed on the same concerns and imperatives as their parents, nor on the same ways of approaching others.
When teaching/training them I had to adapt, not the other way around, and I found them in general to be more focused on equity with a sense of communication to which the old ways of passing on so-called ideals are no longer adapted. That is where many politicians totally fail to speak to them. The new adults from this century may own a debt of semi-gratitude for what they inherited, bit they are the ones who own the world, not those f*cking patronizing baby-boomers who believe the world is their property to be spent as they wish and decide.

  2. This is what should happen. After Joe and Kamala take their victory tour around the country, explaining what the covid relief bill can accomplish, The Democratic National Committee needs to flood the internet and airways with this message: Dear Republican voters, Since none, no, not one of your Representatives or Senators in Congress voted for this relief bill, you should immediately make arrangements to return your stimulus checks to the IRS. Small business owners should return any funding they receive. If you're unemployed, you should send back the unemployment checks you will be receiving. If you're a red state governor, don't accept any funding for programs coming your way. And above all, dear voters, continue to doubt the efficacy of the covid vaccine and don't get those injections. It's called population control, baby, and all the right people will be enjoying the consequences of the near-death and death experiences they will experience!

  3. NO.2 & 4 are just what it is in Canada.

We are that social-democracy with that balance of capitalism and socialism that gives us one of the best place to live in.

I wouldn't consider going to live in USA anytime.
I have a good quebecois friend that I met 27 years ago and he lives now with his American husband in Delaware and I can see how hard it is for him and his spouse to have good health care and now being vaccinated.

I had my first vaccine shot last friday and the second shot is already schedule.

  4. BatRedneck - Your points were extremely well expressed. The world is changing and the old ways need to die.

Milleson - My gut agrees with you, but my mind thinks that's not the way to influence people. Not that those repugliCON thinkers will be influenced. However, the moderates might to be swayed.

  5. Yay, Nathan. I vote for his generation. And, sorry to disagree, but people are lazy... a lot of them. It's called The South. They couldn't even bother to pick their own cotton and have been whining about it ever since. Social Democracy! Come ON already. Let's do it. And that first meme echoes exactly what I thought the day Biden won the presidency.

  6. JiEL - Both times Bernie Sanders ran I supported him, but alas, it wasn't enough. This country needs that kind of fairness. I got my first shot yesterday, and my second is already scheduled as well.

  7. uptonking - I can't argue that people are lazy. I have my moments.

  8. About the vaccine thingy: I was made aware a few days ago that I was "entitled" to get the shot. Ok, that's nice.

About the lazy thingy: going to my MD for the shot and back will take two hours or so, when my pharmacist is just a two minutes walk from home. He and his French peers have just been allowed to vaccine people, so I went to him. Now expecting a call from him for the appointment. Easy-peachy-lazy.

  9. BatRedneck - Sometimes it pays to be lazy. Congratulations on your shot! I got mine yesterday, along with several hundred others in their vehicles. It was a drive-through affair in our airport parking lot.

  10. That is exactly what I like about countries which can be responsive enough as to be able to massively vaccinating their people, no matter the way.
I mean, no matter if it happens in the usual institutions offices or, if necessary, spreading their means throughout whatever places such as parking lots, gym centers or whatever.
It should be all about priorities.
Just as triple therapy should be freely accessible for anyone in the world, not only for us lucky enough to live in a country that grossly refunds labs for us to stay alive.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not angry about all that, only tired to see how greed most often overcomes sanity.

  11. BatRedneck - I really don't think the orange ogre we had previously would have been helpful in this matter.

  12. #2 in Italy we're ijn a sort of social democracy but with tons of problems.
a bureaucracy that is 90% inefficient, an economy that has grown very little for 30 years, great differences between north and south, 160% public debt, dishonesty and tax evasion.

  13. Xersex - Unfortunately, the sorts of things that you explain are what politicians here will use against social democracy.

  14. BatRedneck - After re-reading my reply to your last comment, I wondered what the hell was I talking about? I meant to agree with your thoughts about greed overcoming sanity.
