I think it is outrageous and disgusting that companies like Nestlé are allowed to literally AND legally take over water tables to the detriment of locals. They are pumping so much water in Vittel that the local authorities are to have water supply come from outside the region. That's absurd! But of course Nestlé's lobbying will get the company's financial interests to prevail over public's.

ReplyDeleteIn Montréal where I live, we have the purest tap water. No need to buy bottled water. I have a tank that I fill with the tap water and I put it in my refregirator so the chlorine will evaporate. Anyway, the percentage of chlorine is so low that the taste isn't bad.
We also have a quite effective collect of recyclable materials that the city is collecting from our place every week.
We are also composting and there again the city is collecting those organic materials to our doors every week in brown bins.
