OMG!
ReplyDeleteSo true as I have diabetese Type2 not needing insuline but I have to take two prescribed meds.
If I compare to the cost of my two meds with the same from my Delaware friend who has also diabetese Type2, it's VERY more expensive for him even if he has a medicare insurance.
I don't have a privat medicare insurance but I'm on the provincial universal medicare for my meds.
The cost of my two meds I pay every months goes around $40 Can.
For my American friend, he has to pay around $300 each months.
His husband, a long time friend of mine who is a Canadian living now in USA with his «husband», has some physical issues and he told me that he had to pay $2 800 US for his meds annualy before having the right to have some less expensive costs for his meds.
I just did my income taxes for federal and provincial governements and I spent a bit over $1000 Can for all my meds which I've put on my income taxes reports to have a deductible more.
Yes, meds in Canada are less expensive and that's why many Americans are trying to order theirs from Canada.
What else can be said about the GREED in the Divided States of America?!🤔
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe what my insurance company pays for my prescriptions. It is outrageous. Especially considering how long some of these drugs have been on the market. They need to change the law and allow generic versions after five years. And have you noticed that every time you see your physician they are pushing you to take something? If I could, I would get off the merry-go-round.
ReplyDeleteJiEL - It's very disgusting how much is costs to stay healthy in the good ol' U.S. of A.
ReplyDeleteLuv chocolate - Other than people die because of it?
uptonking - Full disclosure to you, and everyone else: Because I'm HIV+ and live in the state of Oregon that has a terrific Ryan White program here (not all states are equal with that), my co-pays are 0. Everyone should have this coverage without having to have a life threatening disease. Although, these days, it's very manageable.
These speculations about people's health are disgusting. Do speculators think they are immortal and above all always healthy? Don't they have parents, children, relatives, friends who can get sick?
