Saw the CPAC (renamed by Trump Jr, TPAC) and what is going on there is very strange and more. Those are living really in an alternate reality.
The speech of Ted Cruz was almost terrifying and looks like someone who was praising Hitler in Germany before he took office.
The CNN reporter did have some issues to do his job and his interviews just showed how disconnected those folks are from a real conservative Republican party.
It's a cult to the savior, almost a God, tRump.
I also saw the program on CNN last night with Anderson Cooper about the «Cult of Qanon» and is was also very, very, very scary to see those people having such views of what is going on in the world.
I had the chill to hear that «ignorant» man talking about all those fake theories and the way he spoke was almost out of any reality.
IF USA is going on those paths of alternative reality, where is democracy going to be in the future?
JiEL - Your reporting has me concerned for the future of our country. I think democracy around the world is cracking and the U.S.'s collapse would cause the others to fall like dominoes.
Not sure of the falling of other democracies of the world.
Here in Canada like in UK and Australia or any other Commonwealth countries, our parlimentary British style is working reasonabily well.
In Canada, we don't have the issue of religion interfering in the politics and we have a multi parties politic possibilities that prevent in some ways the polarization of the politics.
What is going badly in USA is this polarization and worse with this Qanon, the fake news and all those »plot» theories that are feeding the most ignorant people in USA.
More now then ever, USA is no more the only flag ship of democracy and you lost it since tRump took office and more again when he spreaded that he election was rigged and refused to accept the outcome of a democratic election even far before it was held.
Democracy is in danger in USA but not, for me, for the rest of the world.

JiEL - I'm glad you wrote back and calmed me down a bit. I have a tendency to go out in left field sometimes. If the U.S. falls, it's our own fault for letting religion get such a foothold. You're right: the U.S. is no longer the flagship of democracy.

Things just keep getting worse.... The Republicans are ramping things up, obstructing every piece of legislation, and the worst part about all of it: They'll be reelected, probably retake the House and Senate, and the downhill slide will increase. They can't wait to put Trump or one of his sycophants back into the WH.
whkattk - repugliCONs have been playing a long game for decades. After you are proved correct, it will be a long, slow ride into a theocratic government. I hope I'm dead by then.
