2021.0204.0001...

I got so wrapped up in the carrot cake
post that I totally forgot yesterday's sermon!

  1. That last one is perfect. Is that Schultz cartoon real? He was such an uber-Xtian sort - made me not like the Peanuts for about a year. But they too cute. And the one about the bible... dead on. Thanks for sharing, Rick. Had a bad day yesterday and the day before... all week, actually. Work stuff. Just coming up for air now. :)

  2. uptonking - I doubt the Peanuts meme is Schultz's work. Now that you're up for air, remember to breathe.

  3. I was raised Catholic but I question the Bible. Years ago on the "Phil Donohue Show", there was a theologian that said the Bible was rewritten many times and things added and removed hmmm???🤔🤔🤔

  4. Luv chocolate - Admitting that fact probably didn't sway him any.

  5. Luv chocolate: you may want to inquire as to when the Bible was written. By who, as well as to whose and which purposes.

It might not enlighten you in a comfortable way as per your educational beliefs. Yet the answers will keep you warmer and stronger than the assumed nonsenses you might have been taught.

@Rick: your introduction to this post definitely made this week "Carrot Week"! (hold me a bit responsible, I will assume)
And again, as a thoughtful atheist, I agree with all it says.

  6. BatRedneck - I believe Luv chocolate's expressed doubts about the bible probably keep him comfortable against the nonsense.

  7. Yes, I know and understand that feeling of sitting comfortable behind a veiling.
Well... until it's not enough to live with.
Doubts, and subsequently questions, have a tendency to hang on.
As any would, I like to think this is what keeps us humans going on forward.

  9. Rick, I'm sure you're aware of the direction your blog has been taking in the last several months, and I am totally loving what I'm seeing and especially reading. Your contributors, including me, are opening up and sharing more than just a simple comment on the size of some guy's wanger. I think sometimes I tend to get a little verbose in my comments, but you are encouraging longer discourse and I for one am learning volumes from these guys. I hope this sits well with you, may take up more of your time responding to us, but this dialogue seems important to me and I hope to your other viewers. Thank you, Sir.

  10. Milleson - My blog has changed in a few ways over the years and this latest iteration of more conversation in the comments doesn't bother me in the least. We all can learn from each other.

  11. I could not have put it in a better way than Mileson did.
Thank you Rick for giving us materials to express our moods.

  12. re the last slide: their response is "but you have to have Faith". Faith sounds so positive until you replace it with 'Wishful thinking'.
