  1. Is that last one a Citroen? I love vintage Citroens if it is. Never saw one with the back that low.

  4. Most definitely a Citroen. Looks like a 1973 Citroen SM.

  5. @MNistressMaddie, it's a Citroën SM 1971 and for the low profile is that when the car is stopped, the pneumatic suspension gets deflated.

When you start the car, the suspension rises. I had a neighbor of mine in Québec city that owned one Citroën and it was the most smooth ride to go on those cars. What is special is that with that type of suspension, you could adapt it depending on what roads you go on.

Alsom, that suspension did a special trick that you could run the car on only three wheels.

Too bad, we no more can buy these here in Canada.

  6. The second car is a 1965 Mercury Park Lane. I see one at the local car show every year, it's blue with a white roof and in mint condition. It was originally from Oregon.

  7. Anon @11:13am & JiEL - Thank you both for the I.D. And JiEL, what an interesting-sounding car.

Luv chocolate - I always like seeing cars in mint condition.

  8. JiEl said it all.
SMs were the top after the DS generation.
In these times Citroën's engineers were given the opportunity to invent and develop what remains a masterpiece, unfortunately quite rare as it was produced only in limited amount.
They considered it as the product of their "inventions" lab, prototypes equipped with all the new and best technologies they'd further on spread in consumers products.
But still these 'prototype' were produced in short lines and sold to better-off people. They were considered as the brand's showcase regarding engineering.
Unfortunately, the 30 post-war boom came to an end and Citroën's research labs drastically suffered from that.
Even in France we very rarely see one of these.

  10. last picture is French car Citroen. Was once even with Maserati engine. Was to big for real GT and to small for 2+2 specially back seats.. Was once even state ceremonial car,4 doors cabriolet during President Pompidou era. 1969 / 1974. Was even with 4 doors, OPERA model but not successful on the market. This model was always something between... but was great to ride.

  13. Thank your friend forme, for I did not know Dina Shore. Googling her it led me to discover a very fine voice (her cover of "The man I love" playing in the background :-)
