The Perverse Servility of Bill Barr
Frank Bruni - Dec. 11, 2019
As attorney general, he’s supposed to be the nation’s lawyer. But he has bought into the autocratic delusion that Trump equals America, that national interest and presidential prerogative are inextricably intertwined. William Barr is unfit to be attorney general
Eric Holder - Dec. 12, 2019
Virtually since the moment he took office... Barr’s words and actions have been fundamentally inconsistent with his duty to the Constitution. Which is why I now fear that his conduct — running political interference for an increasingly lawless president — will wreak lasting damage.
He will be integral to keeping Trump in the WH for as long as they can. His DOJ will even buck the court system - not that they'll need to by the time McConnell and the Senate have finished stacking the courts with ultra-conservative, unqualified judges.
