  1. Wanted to tell you how much I an a big fan of your blog! Far more great images on varied subjects than I knew existed. The post of Mateus in 2012 is greatly appreciated. Such a great looking male!

Keep up the great work, please. I'm mid-66, so I understand some of the orientations expressed in the various editorial cartoons and such. I also have come to the conclusion that almost all of the issues in our country today can be traced back to Republicans . . . one way or another. Usually through not wanting to fund some social programs that would have made our country much GREATER than it ended up. In looking at the 2012 archives, the posts on the Fiscal Cliff seemed like they could have been several weeks ago. Trump's done more damage than many will ever perceive, until they find out about it years later. We'll not see things get back to normal in our lifetime, I suspect.

He likes to talk about how much "good" he's done, but says nothing about it when it bombs (as the stock market issues of late). Perhaps Trump is the "political correction" of our time? The rebuilding after he's gone will be massive, but a great opportunity for Democrats to point out just how failed the Republican agendas have been.

I'm in the DFW metro area and the recent news was Trump/Pence at the NRA convention. Deep in the heart of their political base, it seems.

One of these days, we'll get things back on track to make things great for all of the lower percentages of our society and THEN it will really take off . . . just like the economy did when a huge amount of the economy was due to government spending in the 1960s. Big Government "works", if done correctly. There are some things that should be done/monitored at the federal level, some at the state level, and some in the local municipalities.

In the tax issues, what many don't understand is that when the feds don't pay for something that is still needed, those costs get passed to the states, and ultimately into the laps of the local residents. It just gets passed down until "the buck" can't go any farther down. In TX, it used to be that 70% of local school costs were covered by the state/feds, now it's more like 30%, according to the local school superintendent. Guess who makes up that gap! As the level of service can't be decreased by much.

Whenever I hear "privatize", that means, to me, that "We don't want to mess with that, as then I'd have to learn about it, so let somebody that knows what's going on do it." So . . . they don't want to get involved as they keep receiving their paycheck? We need "involved legislators" rather than what we now have.

So, keep up the great work! Cdadbr

  3. I share so much in common with that little rat. Sadly, more often than not, I exhaust myself maze-running and THEN realize that there was an easier way. Thanks for the chuckle.
