Jerry I really enjoy your website but really wish you would check some of the data in the political postings before posting. At wwww.ini.wa.gov/workplace rights/wages/minimum/history the Washington State Department of Labor and Industry reports its minimum wage is $9.47 and is lower than California @ $10, Alaska at $9.75 and Connecticut, Vermont and Rhode Island @ $9.60. Your source may be confusing Washington with the $15 minimum wage in the City of Seattle. There have been reported business closings in Seattle due to the minimum wage and that city's unemployment rate has increased over the past year.
ReplyDeleteIf you Google "List of states by unemployment rate" you will see that the national rate is 4.7% and Washington's is 5.8% which is HIGHER than the national average, not lower as reported by your source.
Guess the deal is why let the facts get in the way of selling your political agenda. A plan that is bad for all of us whether it is Republican or Democrat, Hillary or Bernie or Trump, labor unions or Chamber of Commerce.
Jake - You're absolutely right: I should be fact-checking this crap. But since I'm too lazy to do so, I'll just quit posting anything that has figures in it. And BTW, my name is Rick.
