Read the article the charts are based on. It is admitted by the author that the analysis done does NOT provide any evidence of causality between increases in the minimum wage and overall increases in employment. The well written article does provide valid correlation between the increase in minimum wage and the general increase in wages in the affected states. My guess is the author would be upset to see the charts which misinform people about the author's article. A good example of why anyone should be wary of the 30 second simplistic ads we will be seeing from the two Presidential candidates between now and November.

Jake - I'm guilty of being emotional about this, and the whole election business. Is the article you refer to found through "fightfor15.org" or through the Center for Economic and Policy Research?

It seems to me that in the last 30 years every time the minimum wage is raised somewhere, employment rises in those areas afterwards. This has been pretty noticeable.

I'm gonna be a real dick and say that eventually, it might be actually worth going to work instead of continuing to stay home and watch TV on the taxpayer's dime.

The Center for Economic and Policy Research published the article. A union backed research think tank but generally puts out unbiased research.
Went to your "fightfor15.org". Opened every window and couldn't find a word about who is paying the bills for the website and the movement. My guess is the SEIU. I am always distrustful when there is not full disclosure whether a situation like "fightfor15.org" or an oil company funding a campaign for the environment which really helps the oil company. Equally distasteful and disreputable.
