Post-1292...

I have a problem and I don't know what to do about it. I'm hoping one of you can help. A while back a friend wrote to say that once in a while when he opened a pic, a link for a poker game would pop up. Now, a friend wrote to say that when he clicked on the "Older Posts" button, a porn site pops up. I've been having that problem when working with the blog, too. I don't know how to screen for these things or how to stop them. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm told I can't get anti-virus software for this Apple computer, although I don't know that that would fix the problem with the blog.

  1. Hi Rick, my husband Glenn is a computer tech wizard and he said he doesn't have a clue about your blog problem. I am always impressed with how he solves things. I have been having a problem with two blogs I visit. I can no longer leave a comment on them. Blogger keeps telling me to reenter my password. We have been trying to figure this out for about a week. One of the blogs is Vintage Gay Media History. I emailed Steve and he said some other people re having the same problem with his blog. I hope some one out there can help you with your problem. Oh, big hug for you. M & G

  2. I wonder if this problem is confined to Apple computers, which until very recently, were totally unaffected by the woes of "regular" pcs, such as I have (a Dell). I have the full Norton suite, which up to now has protected me from everything out there. With this Dell & Norton, I have never had any problem with your site, except that time Blogger fucked up everyone's site, and I couldn't Comment here, nor anyone's blog.
Maybe you could ask if those having the problem are using Apples as well?
I wish you the best - I know this crap can be frustrating.

  4. Now it's getting weird. I typed "We use HP with windows 7". I have no idea where "shaters" came from. I don't think it was the word verification I had to enter. Even if it was, how did it get in the comment box? Mommy, I'm scared.

  5. Unfortunately I can't help you much either, Rick. I have AVG anti-virus, and it mostly catches those things.
I did notice that the first time I click on the "comment" link on your blog on any certain day recently, I get a pop-up. I immediately close the pop-up before it does....errrrr..whatever the site does. lol
    Good luck

  6. Mike - I'm scared too! Thanks for your input.

Howard - Both friends don't use Apple.

Greg - Sorry for the pop-ups but I don't know what to do to stop them.

  7. I noticed on about half a dozen blogs I now get a pop-up for a porn site (including yours) when I click anywhere. It's only on these sites and on no others. Strange. I have a regular PC, no Apple.
