We need to distinguish between capitalism and the free market. The one sometimes implies the other, but not always. Genuine free markets did do a lot of good when they created intensive competition and pressure to give consumers what they wanted. The form of capitalism we have today, where gargantuan corporate conglomerates have all the power and there is little meaningful competition, is just a scam to enrich the parasitic oligarchy at the expense of both workers and consumers. We the people have nothing to gain any more from keeping it.

DeleteI am not going to buy the Occupy Democrats cry that it was all Regan. In 1982, it was a Democratic led House (Tip O'Neil) that could have stopped it. EVERYONE was complicit.
ReplyDeleteRade - Sad but true.
DeleteHell, here in Vegas, they lay off staff and then give themselves bonuses. How's that for a real "Fuck you" to the workers?
ReplyDeleteI don't remember the way it was said on CNN yesterday citing a candidate or someone in the public sphere like a influencer, but he qualified USA's capitalism as a «wild capitalism» (not sure about the «wild») but it ment a capitalism which will go over anything for gain and benefit.
ReplyDelete10% of unionised people in USA says it all of how less important are the rights in USA.
