    1. 1958, by that time they were face lifted Studebakers, as Studebaker had merged with Packard in 1954.
Packard designed their own cars up to 1956, in 1957 they were then built on Studebaker chassis.

  2. Packard - Ask the Man that owns one !
Clippers were introduced to offer a lower priced Packard in 1946. Notice the black wall tires, whitewalls were in very short supply in 1946, as the USA gradually went back to a peacetime economy and away from war production.
1959 was the year Chevrolet were the widest at just under 80", as all GM cars were fitted with the same wide panoramic windshield in order to save overall costs across all divisions. That windshield lasted only two years as it proved costly in the long run. The windshield wouldn’t form properly during production, others suffered from distortion and up to a third had to be discarded. Also they were notorious for cracking, the body would flex and the windshield would crack while the front of the car was being jacked up to change a tire. Owners had to be careful.
