ReplyDeleteWith the rise of the Christian nationalism in USA It'll be very hard to go back before the 1950's changes. Even if you founding fathers wanted to split church from politic, too many of your God's freaks are spreading their beliefs and faith.

Well said! Here in Province of Québec, before the 60's, the Catholic Church was the main religion and worse it was too close friend to our then government. Extortion, electoral views in Sunday's sermons, education system where the Church were leading etc..
DeleteWhen we at last elected the Liberal Party of Jean Lesage, things began to change for the best as religion was slowly put out of our politics, education and social stuff like hospitals etc..
We became more a social democracy and more encline to put policies to help our people.
Exiting the Catholic Church from the center of our lives made it possible to eliminate the class divisions and really put the main teaching of Jesus for the good of all, LOVE..
