ReplyDeleteNeal Shaw was a beautiful, wholesome man that was a popular model and (IMO underused) actor in the early 1980's. Born in the midwest (exact location unknown) he eventually moved to Los Angeles where he was "discovered" by Jim French in a gay bar around 1978 and did several pictoral spreads for Colt Magazine. He went on in the early 1980's to star in a handful of films (4 or 5) for Buckshot Productions and then a few for other more minor production companies (like HIS, La Salon and Rage Video) but then dropped out of the porn scene and disappeared as quickly as he came into it.
Blessed with midwest farmboy good looks, a naturally muscular build and just the right amount of body hair to appeal to mainstream porn connoisseurs at the time he was considered indefatigable in bed (or on the couch, outside, in the bathrooms, etc. 😊) and was happy to be completely versatile in a manner so convincing you couldn't tell he preferred to top. Directors described him as a joy to work with - no prima-donna attitude, no weird requests - he would show up, do the job without complaining or stress and then quietly disappear again until he was called again; a "dream porn star" for producers and directors, apparently.
One day - he just stopped answering the phone. There isn't much information available on what happened to him; perhaps he entered a realtionship, got straight married, moved on or passed away. I couldn't find out anymore of him and frustratingly my video collection is even smaller than I would like - a couple of compilation films released by Buckshot later, and nothing of his work at the other studios. 😔
