ReplyDeleteI was never particularly enamored with Rod Roddick; he just didn't have much to offer erotica other than - at 5'11 and over 260lbs - being a "slab of beef." Considering that these photographs were taken between 1995 and 1997, one wonders just how much was due to steroids (the late 90's were the peak of anabolics) and how much was actually god-given physical characteristics. He was one of the last models under the lens of Jim French (aka Rip Colt) and while the composition and focals of his photographs are beautiful and of the utmost highest standards of Colt Studios at the time, that was more due to Jim French's talent and creativity than anything to do with Rod Roddick.
ReplyDeleteHe never translated well over to film either; other than one "Minute Man" loop he did for Buckshot Studios (as well as a republishing by Colt Studios that wasn't produced until after his death from a heart attack; another pointer toward heavy steroidal use), only a couple of credits to his name exist and they were with much smaller, less-known studios than Colt and weren't really well received.
RIP Rod - but IMO you got a lot more credit than you deserved.
