That first house is similar to the house a gay uncle had built with his partner of 40 years in the Hamptons of Long Island. We use to call it the house that love built.
ReplyDeleteThey would host sophisticated gay salons and soirées with great food and conversations of art, culture, current events and politics with their circle of professional friends at the house. You should have seen the spread of fine foods they put out as they both loved to cook.
Once some nosey and uptight relatives stopped by unannounced when my uncle and his partner were hosting a barbecue with the boys of summer frolicking nude in their pool. We never heard the end of their shock, as my uncle said that’s what they deserved for being nosey.
