Love that they all have so much dedicated outdoor patios.

Those are nice flat roof Californian houses which wouldn't be suitable for us in Canada where with our snowy winters that could let tons of snow on those roofs. Not forgetting that those large one floor houses could be hard to heat in winter.

Not suitable for Colorado either. Although we do have a lot of ranch style houses with peaked roofs.

Many were built in California, Eichler homes a prime example of this style.
Back in the day around 1960 when you could buy a new house in California for between 18,000 to 25,000 dollars, now these old houses go for between 700,000 to 2 million dollars ! Talk about housing bubble ready to explode.:(

Don't fuzz about price inflation it did occure everywhere. My parents bought a house in 1974 here in Québec city for $20 000 Can. Dad passed in 2014 and now we had to put mom in a day care complex and we sold the house for $300 000 Can. Those house bought in that times were the best investments our parents could do. Don't blame anything other than the cost of everything increased for decades.
