Pence may be bad, but he'd be better than the asshat we have. Pence would do no worse in trying to re-legislate civil rights than what we're dealing with now - but we wouldn't be the laughing stock of the world. I don't think he'd be trying to set US policy via Twitter. He's spent time in Congress, we'd actually have better chances of having a government run via democratic means.
But, God help us if the current situation does not get brought to a grinding halt.
