Post-11680...
Another thing I've been trying to figure out is why my computer has been acting strangely for several months. Something I read yesterday said not to have stuff, i.e., documents, images, etc. placed on the desktop because it takes the computer more time processing. That's where I keep everything because it's simpler for me to pick from the thousands of images I use for this blog. After a little investigation into my hard drive I discovered that I have a smidgen over 230,000 images in various folders on my desktop. That could explain the annoying behavior. Now I have to try to figure out how to get them off the desktop yet be easy to access. If it ain't one thing, it's another!

Those images should already be in file folders on the hard drive. The icon on the desktop **should be** just that - a shortcut to the folder & photos.
ReplyDeleteDo a search through your hard drive for jpg or jpeg file extension, that should let you know where they've been stored. Then you can move them into a more accessible folder that is easy to remember.
Happy Thursday!
invest in an external hard drive - keep your extensive photo library there and plug it right into your laptop when you want to create a post.
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy to walk you through the transfer. ☺☺☺
whkattk & O!Daddie - Thanks guys! I have an external hard drive already that gets backed up frequently, and I've even retrieved pix from there. But working out "a new way of doing things" will take me a while to figure out.
ReplyDeletewhen I get a pic from the net, I use to put it in one specific folder (ex. gingers, tree graces, Brent Everett, stuff for blog and so on). It's so useful!
