Pearl Harbor, the day that will live in infamy. The Arizona Memorial, like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, has a sacred solemnity all its own.

The REASON we fought WW II was to defeat tyrants, dictators, and fascists. WE learned these things in American History, in the 1960s. When we did not fully understand how THEY could defeat us from within. NOW . . . we are seeing why this was and is correct, should anybody notice!
ReplyDeleteLOTS of USA school kids forgot those lessons, it appears. Nor do some understand the wisdom of those lessons. To support fascism is to make-meaningless the lives of USA soldiers who died in those wars!!!
And now, we have a fascist-leaning political party that wants to control everything, as they say they are for "little government" in the process. Smoke, mirrors, diversion . . .

ReplyDeleteI was a little sad the other day. I always put out some symbolic do -dads that signifies an important event that has happened, I also put some do-dads when there is a holiday. Not one person asked why I had put out the ones I had for Pearl Harbor. Oh well, as long as I remembered, I guess.
